TiO2 bioactive implant surfaces doped with specific amount of Sr modulate mineralization

چکیده

One of the main problems that remain in implant industry is poor osseointegration due to bioinertness implants. In order promote bioactivity, calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) and strontium (Sr) were incorporated into a TiO2 porous layer produced by micro-arc oxidation. Ca P as bioactive elements are already well reported literature, however, knowledge effect Sr still limited. present work, various amounts was evaluated morphology, chemical composition crystal structure oxide investigated. Furthermore, vitro studies carried out using human osteoblast-like cells. The formed showed triplex structure, where higher incorporation increased Ca/P ratio, amount rutile promoted formation SrTiO3 compound. Biological tests revealed lower concentrations did not compromise initial cell adhesion neither viability interestingly improved mineralization. However, concentration (and consequent rutile) induce collagen secretion but with compromised mineralization, possibly delayed mineralization process or induced precipitation deficient hydroxyapatite. Ca-P-TiO2 less seems be an ideal candidate for bone

commercial etch-and-rinse adhesive systems, with and without silane, on their degree of conversion (DC) (%) and microtensile bond strength (μTBS). The NbG micro-filler was added to two etch-and-rinse adhesive systems: One Step (OS) and Prime & Bond (PB) at 40% concentration. The following groups were formed: control without glass addition OS; addition of unsilanized NbG (OSNbG); addition of sil...

Electrophoretic Deposition of Chitosan/45S5 Bioactive Glass Composite Coatings Doped with Zn and Sr

In this research work, the original 45S5 bioactive glass was modified by introducing zinc and/or strontium oxide (6 mol%) in place of calcium oxide. Sr was added for its ability to stimulate bone formation and Zn for its role in bone metabolism, antibacterial properties, and anti-inflammatory effect. The glasses were produced by means of melting and quenching process. SEM and XRD analyses evide...

Surface Reactivity of Quick Alkali Mediated Bivalent Metal Ions (Zn-Mg-Sr) Doped Bioactive Glass

AbstractBioactive glass with frame of SiO2-CaO-P2O5-ZnO-MgO-SrO was prepared using quick alkali mediated sol-gel process. The functional group analysis, morphology, composition and phase analysis of this glass were done by using FTIR, FESEM, EDX and XRD respectively. The bioactive nature of the sample was analyzed by immersion in Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) for a period of 7 days and characte...

TiO2-doped phosphate glass microcarriers: A stable bioactive substrate for expansion of adherent mammalian cells

Scalable expansion of cells for regenerative cell therapy or to produce large quantities for high-throughput screening remains a challenge for bioprocess engineers. Laboratory scale cell expansion using t-flasks requires frequent passaging that exposes cells to many poorly defined bioprocess forces that can cause damage or alter their phenotype. Microcarriers offer a potential solution to scala...
